QUARTER’S VINEYARD

Brancott Valley

Quarters Vineyard

A Gem Down the Road

There are all sorts of reasons why Quarters is so appealing to us. First and foremost, it’s a vineyard that has soul – honestly, not every vineyard does. The vines sit alongside old walnut and pear trees (which the cows love to munch on), and the birds and crickets are always loud. It’s a piece of land that simply feels good on a human level.

Beyond that, it has the trifecta of components needed to make outstanding Pinot Noir: the right soil (heavy clay), mature vines, and a strong sense of place that comes from a management practice with a heavily soil‑first approach. This vineyard just feels alive and healthy.

Located on the floor of the Brancott Valley in the Southern Valleys sub‑region of Marlborough, Quarters is special. We’ve been making wine from this site in one way or another for almost 20 years. Our Sweet Spot Theory really applies here – we know which parts of the 3‑hectare vineyard produce the most intensely flavoured, low‑yielding, tight Pinot bunches.

We believe the best is yet to come for Quarters;
it already has the building blocks from which a great wine can be made.
